Overview
- Determines the best all around member-angler. Members receive priority points for series events.
- Non-members may enter tournaments and win prizes but no series points
- Accumulate points by entering tournaments & weighing catch
- Overall points leader crowned Angler of the Year
- Top 5* places win cash or prizes (prize availibility dependant upon particpation)
- Each event will have a specific format, launch time and fishing boundaries
Rules(**)
- Anglers are responsible for understanding the tournament rules and point structure. It is the participants responsibility to read and understand the series rules and the rules for each tournament.
- To receive appropriate series points, participants must 1st be a member in good standing before the tournament start. Secondly, must place according to the point system below. Non-members are eligible to win tournament prizes but will only receive 5 participation points.
- Participants must submit entry form, signed waiver and payment for each event before the announced deadline (on entry form). NO EXCEPTIONS.
- All participants who place in an event will receive 5 participation points.
- Any participant who places in a payout-placing will receive the appropriate prize for that tournament. Payouts are dependant upon participation.
- For the series points, non-members' points fall below any member. Membership payment and application must be received before the tournament start for series points to be applied.
- Must compete in 3 of 5 events to be eligible for series prize.
- Paddle/Peddle Craft Only- Human powered kayaks, pirogues, canoes only. No mothershipping.
- Any tie in the final standings will be decided by tie-braker rules (below).
Scoring
- Points are distributed by place per the series point system
- Redfish, Trout & Flounder are eligible depending on tournament
- SLAM category- you may weigh 2 or 3 fish but no more than 1 per species. 1 Bonus pound for the Cajun SLAM (1 of each- Redfish, Trout, Flounder)
- Any Cajun SLAM will trump a regular SLAM in overall weight AND series points. This is to reward an angler for accomplishing the task of catching/weighing all 3 species.
Series Point System There will be 5 tournaments. Contestants are automatically awarded 5 "participation points". Members who weigh-in will place for point(s). You will get a minimum of 1 point for weighing a fish.
The Point System 1st- 25 points 2nd- 20 points 3rd- 15 points 4th- 10 points 5th- 8 points 6th- 6 points 7th- 5 points 8th- 4 points 9th- 3points 10th- 2 points 11th and lower 1 point
Event Fees $20 or $25 (+$1 via PayPal) depending on tournament
Payout & Standings $5 of each tournament fee goes towards the series pot. Remaining goes to the said tournament's prizes & expenses.
Series Raffle Pot (SRP) At the end of the series, prize(s) will be drawn for any non-top 5* finalists (members). Each time a member registers for a tournament their name is entered into the SRP.
Tie Break In the event of a tie, the following will determine a tie break for overall series standing: 1- Overall number of Cajun SLAMs 2- # of tournaments fished 3- First to weigh-in at Series Championship
*Prizes will be distributed to either the top 5 or top 10 finishers. This will be dependant upon the number of participants we have, in addition to prize donations received from sponsors. **All rules are subject to change at any time by the Series Board |
